RE-PC Computer History Museum

IMG_2106

A comprehensive history of the personal computer, in the back of a used computer store. Featuring real models of many of the machines that fueled the PC revolution, as wide-ranging as the DEC Rainbow 100 and the Apple Lisa.

Not the most sophisticated museum you’ll ever visit, but one of the most interesting for computer geeks. Also features memorabilia, such as a copy (under glass) of the Popular Electronics issue that prompted Paul Allen and Bill Gates to start the company that would become Microsoft. (See photo gallery below.)

Details: 1565 Sixth Ave. S., Seattle. Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. http://www.repc.com/museum.html

  • Totally unassuming and nothing fancy, but the collection is great! I love this exhibit to see all the old hardware in person. Not to mention, you get to browse the used computer stuff after your tour of the museum for that hard to find stick of memory, obsolete cable or old motherboard.
