Birthplace of Amazon.com

It may look like a charming rambler, tucked away in a Bellevue neighborhood. But there’s something a little different about this house: the world’s largest online retailer was born here. That’s right: Jeff Bezos founded Amazon.com, originally called Cadabra, in the house’s converted garage while renting it in the mid-1990s.
Bezos is long gone, replaced by owners Mitch Rundle (a Microsoft developer), his wife Kelly, their two kids, and dog Mojo. The garage is now a living room following a major remodel, but there’s still some evidence of the home’s history. It sports an oversize mailbox for all the book catalogs Bezos used to receive (photo below). The Rundles occasionally get mail addressed to the Amazon CEO.
